The credit union concept was said to be developed in the mid 1800's. So how can something so old be so relevant today? Before we get to that, consider this. The notion of a bank was created around 600 BC. Now who's more up to date on being in touch with your needs? Okay, just providing a more modern model doesn't necessarily make our way better. But it is.

With us, you're in charge of your own financial destiny. UFCU is a democracy. You vote on the who's, what's, where's, why's, when's and how's of your money. All regardless of whether you're a millionaire, thousand-aire or even a ten-dollaraire.

Community is our number one priority. Most banks are run by people trying to do right by Wall Street. Because we're a collective of local families, neighbors, businesses and organizations, we make decisions based on what's right for Main Street. Or Riverview Drive, Ardmore Avenue, Wilson Road or wherever it is that you really live and work.

We're not-for-profit. Okay, this is a bad pun, but for-profit financial institutions shouldn't make cents. But they do. The typical bank model was created to make money. Why do you think they need to charge all those fees? The UFCU concept was designed to share money. Instead of turning a profit, we return income back to you in the form of lower charges, higher returns on investments and better service.
